Readers! Oh my goodness! Today has been filled with amazing things! I’m actually excited about today! Okay, ready? You’re sure you’re ready right? Riiiiight??
First of all, I love dill pickles. For anyone who knows me, I can eat almost a whole jar in one sitting, if I’m being greedy. So, I’m sitting at my desk, and I hear someone talking about pickles, so instantly, my ears perk up and I begin eavesdropping. Apparently, a trucker needed to cross the border, but he had a bunch of boxes with bags of dill pickles, the ones they use at Wendy’s. I guess he realised he cannot cross the border with food, so, he left them all here! One of my co-workers grabbed this huge bag, comes over to me and is like, “Hey, do you want some dill pickles?” And all I could do was nod my head vigorously because I was so in ‘awe’ at how lucky I was! That’s the first amazing thing that happened today.
Next, I’m sitting at my desk (again) and suddenly, my chair starts rocking back and forth, and so does my laptop screen. So, I thought maybe I was going mad, when my co-worker states ‘Your sweater is swaying back and forth.’ So we all look, and sure enough, the sweater is swaying around. Then, all at once, we have a moment of realization, and we realize what we’re experiencing is an earthquake! What the heck! This does not happen every day, readers. Not only does it not happen every day, it does not happen on the same day I already am excited because I have a giant bag of dill pickles. All of this was just too much! I loved it! Apparently a 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit the border of Quebec and Ontario, so we were feeling tremors from it, but they evacuated a bunch of people in Ottawa. It was crazy. Thankfully no injuries were reported.
Next, I contacted A-Channel news about my press release and asked them for their assistance in promoting Wifi on Port Burwell’s beach. Well, they did me one better, and said they’d come to the beach and do a story on it, and asked me to be in it! So, as you can see, my day just kept getting better.
Then, one of my good friends from school sends me a message asking me if I’d be interested in working for our student federation next year, saying if I send in my resume and fill out the online application, I’m pretty much guaranteed the job, and it’s in my field!
THEN, my boss stopped by and gave me my very own business cards! I have 100 of them, so I’m fairly excited.
Anyways, as you can probably tell, it’s a very exciting day for me today! I’ve never had so many positive things (minus the earthquake) happen to me in less than 6 hours! Holy moly! I hope your days were just as grand, readers! Comment and let me know your experiences with the earthquake if you’d like! I’m interested in hearing what you were all up to at the time. And be safe tonight, they’re calling for gross weather!
Satisfy my Soul
Thats so awesome! I've never had that much luck in my life, ever. Wow!
ReplyDeleteYeah I had no idea there was an earthquake until I heard about it on the 5o'clock news on the radio. I was out and about with my parents all day, and G was in an office all day,and neither of us felt it. But we do have a couple friends here in London who said they felt it. Weird!
