Romona Banana!

Good day readers!

Last night I attended my cousin's wedding. It was beautiful and I'm so excited to welcome his beautiful wife, Heather, to our family. She is truly a gem! The reception was lovely and there was much to celebrate, mainly Heather and Shawn's marriage, but also, the fact that it was my first LEGAL wedding, and it was an open bar! Insane. Needless to say, I had a good time and the bar tender probably hated us by the end of the night, but we were all so pleasant to him that he probably secretly loved us. He made us amazing shots with banana liqueur, amaretto, and bar lime..you could not even taste the alcohol. SO YUMMY! And I'm not a big shots person..so that says a lot. In general, however, I really do love weddings. If I could go to them daily, I definitely would. Finding weddings to crash might be slightly awkward, but it could be fun. My favourite parts would definitely have to be the ceremony itself, the speeches, and then the partying that follows. Everyone is allowed to act crazy and have a good time! I adore it. I have a couple more weddings coming up that I'm fortunate to be able to attend and I cannot wait.

Next, our family cat, Laci, has been having some problems lately. Early on, the vets thought she was diabetic, but thankfully she is not. They told us that she had a big bladder infection and that we needed to give her antibiotics...she seems to have relapsed though. I'm really upset by this, as we hate seeing her in pain. I know that my parents won't make her suffer through this for much longer, but I'm not letting them give up yet. I've done a lot of research and I'm hoping some of what I've learned will contribute to her recovery and ultimately save her from being put down. I am also storing this knowledge in the back of my mind for when I adopt my kitty in late August. I am going to take all preventable measures possible to ensure he doesn't go through the same thing she's going through...plus, I don't think I could handle putting down a pet. Maybe I'm too selfish.

Anyways, enough with the depressing stuff. There's a lot going on over the next few weeks! I'm getting ready right now to go to Long Point (I go there every Sunday-Monday, as my friends there have Mondays off, too!), next weekend I'm going to Beat Rocks the Block with one of my friends from horseback riding that I haven't seen in ages! The weekend after is Tub Daze in Port Burwell, in which I get to walk around in a bikini top and shorts (very much California Gurls' style) surveying people for work. The weekend after that, I'm in Collingwood with my favourite people from college for Wakestock! The weekend after is a wedding in Sarnia, and the weekend after that is my last week of work, which means the last two weeks of August are very much open for adventure ;]

OH! As you may recall in a previous post, my friend had informed me about a job opportunity for the school year. Well, I got a call, and have my interview scheduled in Toronto for July 26! So hopefully I get it, because that would look amazing on a resume and give me some extra cash for the school year..which I can always use for essentials (i.e, cat toys, cat food, cat essentials, groceries, clothing, cover charge, and alcohol..just to name a few!). So yes, please keep your fingers crossed for me..I will appreciate you greatly (more than I already do, if that's possible!)

Have a great Sunday, readers!

  1. Poor Laci :( But yay for adopting a new kitty! I miss when my cats were babies. They were so tiny! Good luck with yours, and I hope Laci gets better!
