Liquefied Snow Days..

Good afternoon my lovely readers!

I hope you are making a decent transition into 2011..you've had about a month to do so :P

This is my first day back to class after having last week off due to flooding. We had flood days..that's like..a liquefied snow day. First of all, I would like to say that having a week away from classes is NOT all it's cracked up to be. I worked a lot, which was awesome..I really don't know what I'd do without HSF. I'd probably sit in bed and watch back-to-back seasons of Dog the Bounty Hunter and drink peach juice right out of the jug..

Anyways, between last weekend and this weekend, I had three shoots. I'll post some photos from those (in chronological order):

Okay, so the first photo (black and white) was done by Amena Assaily. The shoot took place in a studio at Seneca College. Amena was a joy to work with, as was her make up artist, Delia. Both ladies were extremely creative and passionate about their arts, which always contributes to my own inspiration.
The next photo (in the peach) was done by Hollywood Snob Photography and styled by Whitney McMeekin. The make up was done by Christina Spina. This was a great team to work with. Whitney has such an eye for vintage pieces and both Ally Cervantes (Hollywood Snob) and Christina helped bring these vintage looks to life. I was extremely excited about this shoot, as it was for Whitney's look book. I'm so excited to see the finished, printed product. Each outfit fit into a designated area of travel, Paris at Night and Paris in the Spring, London Girl, Americana, etc. The look book is being designed to look like a passport. I was so grateful to be a part of this project!
The last picture was from a shoot with Danielle Suzanne this weekend near Ryerson. It was freezing outside, but the end product was definitely worth it! Danielle has an amazing team and support system, so it was awesome to finally work with her after months of talking back and forth. She is incredibly creative and made ice blocks with frozen flowers and sparkles inside. Though they didn't turn out exactly how she wanted them to, they looked awesome and definitely contributed to the ethereal, winter look.
All in all, it was a successful week. We also received a new volunteer opportunity from my former presentation skills and writing lab professor, Jennifer Leonard. The opportunity was to volunteer at the 2011 JUNO Awards! Though I don't have much experience with media relations or extremely high-profile events, I'm going to apply and hope for the best. I think it would be an incredible opportunity and experience. (Plus I'm a huge advocate for Canadian music!) As I've stated in previous posts, if you don't think you can do something, you can't. So I'm going to think positively, type up a cover letter, tweak my resume, send it off, and hope for the best! Wish me luck, friends!
I hope you all have a great week!

  1. I just emailed the Juno people. I am not expecting anything, but it would be a lot of fun if we were both to get it. Though I realized I didn't write a cover letter..just an email saying how much I would like to do it and my resume...hoping they email me back to ask questions...oops...lol

    Great photos btw : )
