57, 67, and 68 - May 2-4 :]

Hello beloved readers!

My-oh-my it's been a while! I miss you all dearly. I hope you all had a fantastic May 2-4! I certainly did! I achieved three more things off of my list:

#57. Eat something I've never tried before:

That, my friends, is a deep-fried pickle with ranch dressing. I was hesitant, but after some coaxing, I bought a bucket of them and I definitely do NOT regret it. I encourage you all to try a deep-fried pickle! Or at least experience a new food! :]

#67. Go on a boat ride.

I had the privilege of going to Long Point this weekend and going on a boat ride. How amazing was the weather for laying out? It was absolutely GORGEOUS! I love boat rides more than anybody knows. Haha. Laying out on the front, the water gently rocking the boat, and the sun beating down on your skin is just lovely!

#68. Swim in the middle of the lake.

So the surface temperature was 70 degrees Fahrenheit and the water was SO cold. Though I was contemplating going into the water, I thought maybe I'd hold off until it was warmer, but noooo. My friend felt it was necessary to force me into accomplishing things on my list, so as I was dangling my legs in the water, he pushed me in. Haha. I adore my friends.

Overall, the weekend was a success in many ways. Thank you to everybody who made it happen! I adore you all! Now, it is time to go and accomplish some more tasks off my list! Have a lovely day readers, enjoy the weather!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail...

"Oh wait! It's just me! But Peter left this basket of chocolate for me this morning. He says to help yourself!" Thank you Grandma for being you.

So Easter festivities were certainly interesting this year.. Now that my cousins and I are getting older, our families tend to share some rather explicit information with us..information I could definitely do without. For example, my sister insists I will never end up with a man because, "No man would ever put up with you. You're too opinionated," and when I proved her wrong by telling her that I have had some very intelligent people interested in me before and that there is more to me than she knows, my grandma randomly chimes in "I don't care what they are, as long as they got some meat on the bones." Oh, you think that's bad? She then states (as we all burst into laughter), "What? It's true! I like something to grab onto!" Grandma, Grandma, Grannnnnndmaaaa. As your granddaughter, this is information that turns my stomach - though it does provide me with entertainment, I could do without those images in my head.

While Grandma is certainly one of a kind, she provides us with great advice on the aspect of marriage. She swears by 5 things that will lead to a strong and forever-lasting marriage. They are:

1. Humour (Find somebody that can make you laugh and that can laugh at themselves)

2. Communication (Find somebody that listens and speaks their feelings)

3. Love (Find someone that you truly love more than anything)

4. Chivalry (Find someone that will open the door for you, pull out your chair, and tell you 'I love you' every day.

5. Great in bed (...I feel kind of awkward for this one, thanks G-ma)

So, overall, I can't disagree. The lady knows what she's talking about. She's been married for 48 years after all.

Before this wondrous occasion, however, I had the pleasure of going down to Long Point with my friends from home and partying in cottages, outside, and on the beach. It was a grand time and I was extremely excited to see everyone after being away from them for so long. I can't wait for the summer when every weekend is filled with similar times.

I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend just as much as I did!
