People Amaze Me..

First of all, I would like to state that people are rather predictable in their ways. They are generally easy to read, and sometimes they are even as open as a book, leaving no page unturned for the public. Which is why I'm super confused right now. A couple of situations have occurred in the past week that have left me scratching my head, yet also provided me with a laugh, not one of those 'bahahahaha, that was the funniest thing I have EVER seen in my life' kind of laugh..but a 'ha ha ha..? I'm feeling awkward and uncomfortable now that you've done that' kind of laugh. You'll understand more when you read the below situations:

1. My roommate and I are walking back from the cafeteria, chatting away, and ahead of us are a group of individuals, speaking a language I cannot understand. I'm super fascinated by languages, so I'm paying extra attention to them when they pass by the security doors. This is when 'Individual A' taps the handicap button (you know, the one that opens the door all the way and comes in handy if your arms are full?) So at this point, they keep walking...they didn't even need the door opened, BUT, his planned seemed to be foiled, because the door didn't open. Oh but not to worry 'Individual A', because 'Individual B' has come to your rescue! Realizing that 'Individual A' failed to complete his mission, 'Individual B' then presses the button and successfully opens the door --- then continues right on by. You're kind of my hero.

2. My sister is sitting on the front lawn with our cousin when they glance over to the neighbour's yard (which has a fence around it and some very sallow-looking trees for privacy) and see him standing in his backyard with a rake. Normal enough. However, he then begins swinging it around and making commands and remarks, as though it was a light saber. Though we aren't very close with our neighbours (we haven't talked at all, actually), I must say, if I was my sister, I would feel privileged, no, honored to have witnessed such a private practice. That's a bond on a whole new level. I hope to witness this for myself in the near future. In the mean time, this is how I visualize it:

*Sighs fondly at the memory* As seemingly predictable as people may be, these characters are certainly an exception. I hope I encounter more in the future..they make life extremely entertaining.
