Kat Von D and New Years

Hey readers!

I don't want to be one of those bloggers that plagues their blog with emotional and negative posts, nor do I want to be one of those bloggers that contradicts their previous posts. I want to be a blogger that you can follow from the beginning and see how my personal views, values, and experiences help me evolve as an individual, and perhaps, the kind of blogger that can benefit you.

That being said, I read Kat Von D's new book, 'The Tattoo Chronicles'. I received the book from my parents for Christmas and finished the book on Boxing Day. I honestly feel as though you don't need to be a fan of Kat Von D to enjoy her book. She has published her journal entries, her inner-most thoughts...it's extremely personal, and extremely relateable. I found the book to be moving and inspirational, yet saddening at various parts. Kat's relationship with Nikki Sixx is no secret, however the book gives an inside to where their relationship began, to where it got hard, to the various triumphs and then various trials and tribulations they endure as a couple. Because Kat and Nikki are no longer together, reading the words she wrote about their relationship while they were together is difficult.

After finishing this book, I felt inspired. I thought about my journal and the different things I had documented over the years, and I cannot imagine having it published. How vulnerable would I feel to have my thoughts, feelings, and opinions out for the world to see? To have names, mistakes, experiences revealed...my flaws revealed. The thought of it is terrifying. The thought of it is revitalizing. Maybe I'll post my journal entries one day..

On a lighter note, I am going to Montreal for New Years Eve. I've never been to Quebec, so I'm so excited to experience the culture and history that Quebec has to offer. I cannot wait. I'll document some of my experiences to share with you upon my return.

Have a safe, smart, and fun new years eve, friends!
