Single-Awareness Day

Happy Valentine's Day my lovely little friends!

As many of you know, I loathe Valentine's day. Not because I'm a bitter, single person who doesn't have a significant other to spend this sappy, over-rated, commercialized 'holiday' with, but because it's..well...sappy, over-rated, and commercialized..

Today was probably the best Valentine's Day so far. First, I found out I'm a finalist for a case study assignment that we had to submit for writing lab. Basically, the top 5 papers of the class get sent off to PR company Cohn&Wolfe, and the author of the paper they choose to be the best wins $1000. That was a great start to my day!

I went to Pickle Barrel with a couple of my friends for lunch and there, we exchanged gifts. I got some super nifty things, loves! I got a rose that, when pulled apart, turned into red panties. I also got candy, a beautiful plant, a candle and holder that you put oil in so that your room smells nice, and a cute, heart-shaped pillow! It was a very successful afternoon if you ask me.

For dinner, I went to Jack Astor's with my roommates. Jack Astor has been our go-to spot since first year. We had a romantic dinner-date and drew fun things on their crappy paper table cloths. This is mine:

Everyone needs love.
To finish off the night, we are about to watch the new Resident Evil movie..I'm pretty excited, seeing as it's about zombies.
Next week is reading week, and I'm going to Cuba with friends! I'm ridiculously excited because:
a) I've never been to Cuba and I hate the weather here, and
b) I've never been on a plane before!
This is scary and exciting all at the same time..it will certainly be an adventure, that is for certain! I kind of wish I was going to be with my mommy and daddy for my first flight..but I know they will be thinking of me and proud that I'm able to accomplish such a big first on my own. My grandparents gave me a great amount of spending money, and an angel pin to wear for safety. While I'm not an overly religious person, I am spiritual, and I will wear the pin to make my grandparents feel better.
I'm off now my friends..time to scare myself silly with scary movies. JOY! I hope you all have a lovely single-awareness day, and cozy up with your non-significant others.
