A Possum stole my sandal while fist-pumping like a guido.

Jeeeeez, it certainly feels like it's been forever since I've written... not due to a lack of excitment, but because there's just been TOO MUCH going on! So here I shall update you and use fun graphics, which, I have not included for quite some time :]

First of all, I'm making art for my apartment..because...well...it will need some. I am attempting to create an abstract Toronto-ish/city at night type thing..but it's not really going over too well...so I've given up on it, and am instead going to attempt this beauty:

Okay...yes...I do realize it's quite ambitious, but, I've always been a fan of the 'go big, or go home' motto, so I'm going big, and if I fail, well..it will probably still find its way into my bedroom somehow. It's just too beautiful to not try to recreate.

NEXT, my list is coming along nicely I watched the sunset out on Lake Erie the other night:

It was beautiful, as you can see! So that's another thing off of my summer bucket list that has been accomplished!

Now, I have two questions for you... let's just suggest, so that I have minimal explaining to do, that these are 100% completely hypothetical situations.

1) What would you do/how would you react if, upon arriving back from a grand time somewhere other than were you left your shoes, you realized that only one of your shoes was missing. Then, drunken and stumbling around, a growl from the bushes errupts, and you see a giant possum sitting on your sandal with a strap in its giant fangs. It would look something like this:

"GRRRRROWL!!!!"

Rather frightening I'd say!

2) You are dancing at a concert and you have a guido infront of you and behind you...when all of a sudden, the guido infront of you gets so into his hardcore fist pumping, his guido hair-spike jabs you in they eye and causes your eye to fall out and therefore result in your blindness! :

...Just a couple of scenarios to consider in life.
Anywho, I have a wedding to attend this weekend, and I'm oh-so excited because I love weddings, wedding receptions, wedding cakes, and seeing my family. OH! And open bars, which this one happens to be. So basically it's a winning weekend for me! Woo whoo!
Enjoy your night readers!

Apartments, The Classics, and Theatre Students - Oh Mi..ley?

Good morning readers! As of today, I have two classes, three tests, and one final presentation left until my summer begins! With the end of a semester comes a lot of happiness and celebratory events, such as the bonfire on Friday at the lake, the gala next week Thursday, and perhaps a PR party next Friday. The thought of moving out of rez on May 1st is extremely weird though. It's going to be odd this summer without having my friends right next door. I am thankful, however, that we are living close to some of them next year...which brings me to my next point... my roommate and I finally got an apartment! It's currently occupied by slightly dirty boys, but once it's cleaned, and all of our stuff is moved in, it's going to be wonderful. I can't wait! :]

Random statement: I've been listening to a lot of my older music lately...only the classics, of course. Things like: Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper, Nirvana, Heart, Blondie... I rediscovered my collection randomly, and now I can't help but listen to it every day. It's just raw and I love it.

Oh! So today, I was in my elective, and we didn't really need to go to this class because we were just watching a movie and handing in our essays, but thankfully I attended, because I witnessed one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Sitting in my chair and daydreaming like I usually do before class starts, I was suddenly snapped out of my thoughts with, "I hopped off the plane at LAX, with a dream and my cardigan..." Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA, blasts into the room, her skimpy little shorts and push-up bra gracing us with their presence on the projector. Then, as if this wasn't painful enough, the theatre students in my class, jumped up and started to sing and dance. I felt like I was in an episode of Glee or High School Musical. To top it all off, my professor grabs her video camera and starts to film these eccentric students singing along to Miley Cyrus. It was crazy, but extremely funny, as the theatre students that were performing were boys. Now, I know I haven't been very frequent with the visuals, so here's a special treat:

Have a lovely day readers!

Summer of 2010 will NOT be a waste!

Okay readers! I'm super excited today, because not only is it a fabulous day outside and there's only two more weeks of school left, but because I have promised myself to make this summer count.

Lately I have been reflecting on my life thus far, and though I've experienced some really wonderful moments, my summers tend to be slightly dull (except for the occasional camping trips, day trips, etc). So this year, I've decided to not let another summer go to waste and to ensure that this promise is fulfilled, I have created a list of things I am going to accomplish before the summer ends. According to my calender, I have exactly 121 days to complete my list, including all the days of work. Will it be challenging? Of course! But that is what's going to make it count. I will be blogging throughout the summer as each item gets crossed off my list and will be including photo evidence of the completion of the task (Think 'The Buried Life', without the cross-country travel and giant purple bus!).

Now, what you've probably been waiting for...DUN DUN DUNNNN! The list! (Hover over image and click to zoom in)

I encourage you all to make a list and see how much you can accomplish! It's fun! Do it with friends, even..that could be fun too! Make your summer worth while this year! This will be your only summer of 2010!! :]

Here Comes Peter Cottontail...

"Oh wait! It's just me! But Peter left this basket of chocolate for me this morning. He says to help yourself!" Thank you Grandma for being you.

So Easter festivities were certainly interesting this year.. Now that my cousins and I are getting older, our families tend to share some rather explicit information with us..information I could definitely do without. For example, my sister insists I will never end up with a man because, "No man would ever put up with you. You're too opinionated," and when I proved her wrong by telling her that I have had some very intelligent people interested in me before and that there is more to me than she knows, my grandma randomly chimes in "I don't care what they are, as long as they got some meat on the bones." Oh, you think that's bad? She then states (as we all burst into laughter), "What? It's true! I like something to grab onto!" Grandma, Grandma, Grannnnnndmaaaa. As your granddaughter, this is information that turns my stomach - though it does provide me with entertainment, I could do without those images in my head.

While Grandma is certainly one of a kind, she provides us with great advice on the aspect of marriage. She swears by 5 things that will lead to a strong and forever-lasting marriage. They are:

1. Humour (Find somebody that can make you laugh and that can laugh at themselves)

2. Communication (Find somebody that listens and speaks their feelings)

3. Love (Find someone that you truly love more than anything)

4. Chivalry (Find someone that will open the door for you, pull out your chair, and tell you 'I love you' every day.

5. Great in bed (...I feel kind of awkward for this one, thanks G-ma)

So, overall, I can't disagree. The lady knows what she's talking about. She's been married for 48 years after all.

Before this wondrous occasion, however, I had the pleasure of going down to Long Point with my friends from home and partying in cottages, outside, and on the beach. It was a grand time and I was extremely excited to see everyone after being away from them for so long. I can't wait for the summer when every weekend is filled with similar times.

I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend just as much as I did!

It's a Beautiful Day!

It's such an unbelievably beautiful day today! A walk by the lake is most definitely in order.

I have really grown to love this city and lately it's been feeling more and more like home, which is why I'm really quite saddened that there's only a few weeks left before I leave T.O for four months. I've met some amazing people while I've been here and as much as I adore my family, living with them will not be the same as living on residence. I'm really concerned that my freedom will be minimal this summer.

On that note, I really want to go to the beach. I'm just throwing that out there. I'm hoping the lakes are less polluted this year as I do not enjoy showing up to a beach, laying out a towel, taking a stroll, and seeing
dead fish with rotted eyeballs, decaying in the sand. I also do not like wading into the water only to have broken beer bottles slice my foot open. It's kind of a mood-killer. So if you're partying at/near a beach this summer, can you do us all a favour and clean up your mess? If you're allowed to have a good time doing what you want to do, so are the rest of us.

This is all I have to say for now...oh wait, that's a lie! I'm very torn about what to do this weekend as family Easter is conflicting with some previous commitments. I hate saying I'm going to do something and then not follow through, but unfortunately, I do put my family at the top of my priority list and therefore, I'll have to delay my previous plans.

Have a lovely day! Don't let it get away!

P.S I've really gotten into reality shows..like
The Real World and 16 and Pregnant. I realize they're superficial, but come on! I just can't help myself. It's nice to watch other people's drama instead of having to endure your own, right?
